About Capdown
Capdown were a band from Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. Originally known as Soap, their songs have political themes as alluded to by their name, which is short for Capitalist Downfall. Mixing ska, punk, hardcore, dub and reggae, Capdown built a reputation around their independent releases and numerous tours.[1] Their debut album Civil Disobedients was released by London punk label Household Name Records in 2000, a year in which Capdown played nearly 250 gigs.[2] In early 2001, Capdown toured with a number of established American bands, including Less Than Jake[3] and played the Deconstruction touring festival with Pennywise and Lagwagon.[4] In September 2001, Capdown released their second album, Pound for the Sound, receiving positive reviews from the likes of Kerrang[5] The following year saw tours with Bad Religion[6] and Hundred Reasons. In 2003 the band signed to Fierce Panda Records, releasing two EPs: Act Your Rage and New Revolutionaries. The final line-up included: Jake (vocals and saxophone), Boob (bass guitar), Keith (vocals and guitar), Tim (drums) and new addition Andrew "Eddie" Hunt (keyboards/samples).[7] They released a new album on February 5, 2007, entitled Wind Up Toys on Fierce Panda Records.[8] The band split up after one last UK tour ending which was due to end 9th of November 2007 in their home town of Milton Keynes, but due to venue difficulties, ended up being split over two gigs on the 9th and 10th of November and eventually cancelled. Capdown played their final show on 7th June at the Pitz club in Milton Keynes following a "Warm up" show at the Kingston Peel on 5th June.Tim McDonald now works at Oakgrove School.

Future ProjectsAccording to their website www.capdown.net the band will no longer play as Capdown. On their final tour they announced that Capdown would never play again, adding to the uncertainty surrounding their future. Since the demise of Capdown both Boob and Tim have confirmed they are working on a new band, The Maccalites, alongside Simon Wells from Snuff/Southport.[citation needed] References
